Choosing the Right Pots and Pans: A Guide to Quality Cookware
Investing in a good set of pots and pans is essential for any kitchen, enabling you to cook a wide variety of delicious meals with ease and efficiency. Our collection offers a range of high-quality cookware designed with both performance and safety in mind. This guide will walk you through the features of our non-stick Teflon coatings, highlight our diverse cookware sets, provide specific cleaning instructions, and offer important usage tips to ensure your cooking experience is both enjoyable and safe.
The Safety and Care of Our Non-Stick Teflon Coatings
Many of our pots and pans feature a premium non-stick Teflon coating (PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene) to make cooking and cleaning a breeze. We want to assure you that all our non-stick cookware is manufactured with your health and safety as a top priority. Our Teflon coatings are rigorously tested and certified to be PFOA-free, lead-free, nickel-free (with nickel only present in the handles of some models), cadmium-free, and free from PFAS, BPA, and APEO.
It's important to understand that Teflon itself is not a harmful material when its surface remains intact. However, deterioration of the coating can occur over time with improper use. Therefore, we strongly recommend inspecting your non-stick cookware regularly and discontinuing use if the Teflon coating shows significant signs of damage, such as peeling or scratching.
To maximise the lifespan and safety of your Teflon-coated pots and pans, please adhere to the following guidelines (always refer to the specific instructions included with your product):
- Use Appropriate Utensils: We highly recommend using silicone or wooden utensils specifically designed for non-stick surfaces. Metal utensils can easily scratch and damage the Teflon coating.
- Avoid Overheating: Excessive heat can cause the Teflon coating to degrade over time. Follow the recommended cooking temperatures for your cookware and avoid leaving empty pans on a hot burner.
- Gentle Cleaning: While non-stick surfaces are easy to clean, avoid using abrasive sponges, steel wool, or harsh scouring pads that can scratch the coating. Opt for a soft sponge or cloth and warm, soapy water.
- Hand Washing Recommended: While some non-stick cookware may be dishwasher safe, hand washing is generally recommended to prolong the life of the coating.
- Proper Storage: Avoid stacking non-stick pans directly on top of each other without protection. Use pan protectors or soft cloths between them to prevent scratches.

Caring for Your Cookware
Keeping your beloved pots and pans clean is key to their longevity and performance, and all our stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe for your convenience! However, a little extra care can go a long way.
For our Edo collection, which is perfect for induction cooking, simply wash with hot water and your usual dish soap after use, remembering to rinse well and dry thoroughly to prevent any water spots. It's best to steer clear of harsh chlorine-based or abrasive cleaners and metal scouring pads to protect the finish. Don't be concerned if you notice slight colour changes over time or with high heat – this is normal and won't affect how your Edo cookware performs. The enamelled cast iron grill pan in this collection, as well as the rest of the collection, can go in the dishwasher, but for long-term care, hand washing is gentler; soak any stubborn bits in hot, soapy water and use a soft brush.
Similarly, our induction-friendly Mami collection benefits from prompt washing with warm, soapy water, followed by a good rinse and thorough drying to avoid stains. When cleaning Mami, remember to avoid abrasive cleaners, especially on any silicone resin-coated parts. Just like with Edo, any colour variations on the sides or bottom are usually just a sign of use and won't impact cooking. For those special Mami pieces like the bourguignonne and fondue sets, be sure to check their specific care instructions.
For the versatile Pots&Pans collection, whether you've chosen the stainless steel or the non-stick versions (both induction compatible and dishwasher safe!), the cleaning approach is much the same as for Mami and Edo: wash with warm, soapy water, rinse well, and dry. The key things to remember here are to avoid chlorine-based or abrasive cleaners, and specifically, no metal wool on the stainless steel and no abrasive tools on the non-stick surfaces.
The elegant Convivio collection, also induction suitable and dishwasher safe, prefers a gentle touch. Use a sponge with warm water and your regular dish soap, rinse well, and dry carefully to prevent streaks. Metal scouring pads are strictly prohibited for Convivio. If you're using the dishwasher, opt for non-aggressive detergents and lower temperature cycles, and try to dry them soon after the cycle ends to avoid marks. If you happen to get any stubborn marks on the steel, a dedicated steel cleaner should do the trick. For food that's stuck, simply soak the pot in hot water before washing.
Lastly, our Tama collection, with its lovely non-stick surfaces and induction compatibility, likes to be cleaned with a sponge, warm water, and liquid dish soap, followed by a thorough rinse and drying. Remember to avoid metal scouring pads on the Tama non-stick. If you're using the dishwasher, non-aggressive detergents and low-temperature cycles are recommended, and it's best to dry the casserole promptly after washing.
The Cintura di Orione collection, whose pieces can be purchased individually, is available in two versions: stainless steel, suitable for induction hobs and dishwashers, and copper, which is not compatible with induction hobs or dishwashers. Again, we recommend that you carefully follow the instructions provided in the packaging for optimal use, performance, and maintenance.
Important Note on Lids: Unless you are purchasing a pre-built set, please note that lids for our pots and pans are typically sold separately, allowing you to customise your collection according to your specific needs.
Induction and Gas Stove Compatibility:
A significant portion of our cookware collection is designed for versatility in the kitchen. All our induction-suitable pots and pans can also be used effectively on gas stoves. This ensures that regardless of your stovetop type, you can enjoy the superior performance and design of our cookware. Look for the "Induction Suitable" icon on the product pages to identify compatible items.
Important Note: Handle Temperature
Please be aware that all our pots and pans feature handles made of high-quality stainless steel. While stainless steel is a durable and elegant material, it is an excellent conductor of heat. Therefore, when using our pots and pans on a stovetop or in the oven, the handles will become hot.
Always use oven mitts or pot holders to handle hot cookware to prevent burns. This is a characteristic of stainless steel handles and is a testament to the quality of the material used throughout our cookware.
Choosing the right pots and pans is an investment in your culinary journey. By understanding the features of our non-stick coatings, exploring our diverse cookware sets, adhering to the specific cleaning and maintenance guidelines for each collection, and being mindful of handle temperatures and stovetop compatibility, you can select the perfect tools to enhance your cooking experience and enjoy them for years to come.
